Harp Teacher, Performer, and Composer

The harp is a beautiful instrument to learn and play. I've studied both jazz and classical genres utilizing the french technique on a European style harp. This gives a unique dimension to how I teach. The advantage of the harp over say, the violin, is that the student can quickly play songs on their own and even an underdeveloped tone and technique is pleasant to the ear. Other string instruments tend to be jarring when one first starts and band instruments very loud. The harp sounds good at every level.

 

Lesson Details and Pricing

I offer individual 30, 45, and 60 minute lessons for $30, $45, and $60 each, respectively.

​

Buddy lesson discount - 2 students for 1 hour for $50.

​

All ages are welcome.

​

I'm located in Murray UT and teach primarily virtual lessons. That way we can connect no matter where you're located! I've taught students in the rural west, London, Canada, and even Australia. For students under 8 I do ask that an adult attend lessons to help the student with technique and practicing.

​

Individualized pedagogy and repertoire choices to appeal to the musical preferences of each student, including some custom arrangements. Students also have the option to compete at the Utah Harp Festival in Provo UT each May. Its the perfect opportunity to gain performance experience with a friendly audience.

While instrument prices may hold you and/or your child back, I offer 33% off a harp rental when you have at least two lessons a month. 

 

Harp Purchases and Rental Options

There are a variety of different harps, both in world music and the European classical tradition, which vary greatly from each other. If you are located near Utah, I have harps available to rent there is a great harp community here where you can buy/sell/rent quite easily. We're fotunate to have both Summerhayes Music and Lyon and Healy West to meet our harp needs. I am a Lyon and Healy harpist which, along with Salvi Harps, have excellent rent-to-own and bounty programs.
